Kinsey Holland

Director of Bands

Ms. Holland has been a music educator for 9 years and is in her first year as the Director of Bands at Croatan High School in Newport, North Carolina. 

Ms. Holland's teaching responsibilities at Croatan High School include directing the Wind Ensemble, the Percussion Ensemble, the Big Band, and the Marching Cougars as well as serving as one of the directors for the Carteret Collective Sound for the Fall and Winter Seasons. 


Ms. Holland graduated from West Virginia University with her Bachelor of Music in Music Education in 2013.  While at West Virginia, she received a full tuition waiver scholarship and participated in multiple ensembles including the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, and being a featured soloist in the "Pride of West Virginia" Mountaineer Marching Band. 

She received her Master's in Music Education degree from James Madison University in 2023. While at James Madison, she served as a graduate assistant for the band program providing support to the 510+ member Marching Royal Dukes, the basketball pep band, three concert bands. She also assisted with the 800+ member summer band camp, the "Parade of Champions" marching band competition which is the largest competition on the east coast with over 50+ entries per year as well as assisting with undergraduate music education courses. She also had the opportunity to rehearse and conduct the Symphonic Band and Concert Band. 

After her undergraduate studies, Ms. Holland taught 3 years of elementary band in the Vienna, Virginia area before she became the Associate Director of Bands at James. W. Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax County, Virginia.

While at Robinson, Ms. Holland directed both middle and high school bands, 2 high school jazz bands, and directed the yearly spring musical along with assisting with the award winning Marching Rams in the Fall. During her time at James W. Robinson, the Wind Symphony was invited to perform at Music For All's National Concert Band Festival held in Indianapolis, Indiana. Ms. Holland's concert and jazz bands consistently achieved superior and excellent ratings at the Virginia State Concert and Marching Assessments. 

Ms. Holland is an active adjudicator and clinician in the Mid-Atlantic region.
